Charles John Bristowe
This page will have details of Charles John Bristowe the second son of Samuel Boteler and Albertine Bristowe who was a Cambridge University "blue". Along with being the Captain of the rowing eights in 1886, he went on to coach the rowing eights for the next 15 years.
He was also a Clergyman in the Church of England, and involved himself in the education system becoming the first Director of Education for Nottinghamshire. He died prematurely in 1911 at the age of 48 following an appendectomy operation in Nottingham General Hospital.
